Scope : redesign a manually driven steerable catheter for mitral valve repair and deliver a functional prototype.

Skills: The procedure is a multi-step process requiring requiring detailed attention to human factors design and mechanical function. I performed Industrial design of housing, ergonomic and HF exploration of housing and required step-by-step procedure UI, and mechanical design of internal components

Mechanisms include ratcheted thumb driven wheel, cam-lever lock, novel cam locking suture clamp and thumb tension rack.

Prototype functionally used in pre-clinical tests.
